April's showers lead us to spring and a rich variety of musical offerings. Last month we heard the New York Philharmonic's St. Matthew Passion – a gorgeous easter-tide with debuts by JASON GRANT and the current generation's great Evangelist, JAMES TAYLOR. This month we welcome German soprano JULIANE BANSE to performances with the National Symphony, recitals in Philadelphia and at the 92nd Street Y with the ROSSETTI STRING QUARTET - also touring this month with harpist YOLANDA KONDONASSIS; the JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET performs the world premiere of Elliott Carter's Clarinet Quintet with Charles Neidich; GWYNNE HOWELL sings at Houston Grand Opera; cellist ZUILL BAILEY plays Dvorak in Peru (fresh from his triumph with the Minnesota Orchestra); DAVID STAHL leads Candide in concert with the Charleston Symphony; all this, and much more.
Join us!
All the best, Charlotte Schroeder
